Move through your
workday with awareness.

For people who spend a lot of time sitting, working at a screen, or repeating similar movements throughout the workday.

The Alexander Technique offers a way to become more aware of habitual patterns of movement and tension and to discover new possibilities for handling everyday situations.

It is not about perfect posture.

It is about becoming more aware of what you are actually doing while sitting, standing, and moving.

What we start doing
without even noticing.

Many parts of the workday repeat themselves day after day. Over time, habits can develop in the way we sit, work, and move, often without us even realizing it.

Sitting for long periods

When we sit, we often stay in similar positions for long stretches of time. It can be helpful to notice how we are actually sitting and using our body.

Computer work

When we are focused on a task, our attention can quickly narrow to the screen. What the rest of the body is doing can easily fade into the background.

Everyday routines

Standing up, typing, talking on the phone, or walking often happens almost automatically. These familiar routines can reveal recurring patterns of movement and tension.

It is not about
perfect posture

The Alexander Technique does not prescribe one “correct” sitting posture. Instead, lessons help you become more aware of what you are actually doing while sitting, standing, and moving.

Not simply correcting

Rather than deliberately placing the body in a certain position, we look at the movement and tension habits that may be involved while sitting, standing, or moving.

But becoming aware

As these habits become more conscious, you can explore other possibilities and observe how sitting, standing, and moving can feel and work differently.

Alexander Technique lesson while sitting

From lessons into your
everyday work life

During lessons, we work with simple movements and everyday situations that come up again and again throughout your day.

Sitting & moving

Sitting down, standing up, standing, and other simple movements can all be part of a lesson. Together, we look at what you are actually doing in these everyday situations.

Becoming more aware

Through verbal guidance and gentle hands-on direction, I help you become more aware of familiar patterns of movement and tension while exploring different possibilities.

Bringing it into your day

You can then take what you experience in lessons into your everyday work life, continuing to notice and explore these patterns on your own.

Curious to experience
it for yourself?

If you'd like to experience the Alexander Technique for yourself, I'd be happy to hear from you. We can talk about what you're currently working with and what lessons could look like for you.
