About me.
I’m Thomas Glen Cook, an actor and Alexander Technique teacher based in Vienna.
My connection to the Alexander Technique began through acting, movement, and my training. Today, these experiences shape the way I work with people who want to become more aware of their movement and postural habits.
How it all began
The Alexander Technique is closely connected to my path as an actor and has been part of my work since my years of training.
During my time at The Juilliard School, voice and movement played an important role in my training. Alongside Voice and Speech, I also studied Mime, Tai Chi, Pilates, and Stage Combat. The Alexander Technique was part of my training every year and became an important foundation for my work with voice, speech, and movement.
In 2004, I began my Alexander Technique training at IRDEAT and later continued at the Alexander Technique Centre Vienna, where I completed my training in 2007. I have been teaching the Alexander Technique ever since, bringing together my experience as an actor with many years of teaching.
Two parts of my work
that belong together.
Acting and the Alexander Technique have been part of my life for many years and are closely connected in my work.
At the Juilliard School, my training included intensive voice and speech work as well as mime, Tai Chi, Pilates, and stage combat. The Alexander Technique was part of my training every year and provided a foundation for working with voice, speech, and movement.
These experiences continue to shape my teaching today. Part of this work involves noticing unnecessary tension and developing a more conscious approach to movement, voice, and speech.
Was mir im Unterricht
Maybe we'll get to meet
in person soon.
If you'd like to experience the Alexander Technique for yourself, I'd be happy to hear from you. I'd be glad to show you how you can apply the Alexander Technique in your own life.
